Transition

There was a man who was locked in his mind – he lived in a dream world…

His fantasies remained just out of reach, and he couldn’t reach the real world…

He craved attention, but in the end his taste shifted towards love…

Then in the midst of mid-sentence, an Angel appeared, shimmering the purity of a dove…

He could not touch her, he could not lure her, he could only look…

Passing time seemed not to perturb her, and though he shouted, the bait she never took…

After multiple eternities in the space of an hour…

He learned much by gazing at her – each moment growing sweeter not sour…

Soon he began to ache, with the need to give…

He wanted nothing from her – only for his growing love to live…

They exchanged nary a word, but they knew all there was to know…

The man was jarred – he experienced the connection of the soul…

In the blink of a second, she opened her mouth and spoke…

Fantasy met Reality.  Fiction met Fact.  Hearts exchanged beats…

And then – he awoke.
